Monkton New for March 8
MONKTON — Don’t forget to bring some food items to benefit the food shelf when you go to the recycling center in town on March 10. Monkton Boy Scout Troop 525 will be on hand to collect the items you bring.
Troop 525 is gearing up to prepare you a great dinner again this year at the Monkton Central School. The Erik Davis Memorial Dinner will be held on this Saturday, March 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. This year the feature meal is chicken and biscuits, with dessert to follow. You will have the option of a “take-out” meal if you can’t stay. The Scouts will be delivering some “meals on wheels” dinners in the area this year.
The silent auction with an abundance of great prizes will once again entice you to bid on your desired items. Prices for the dinner will be adults $8 and children $5.
Come enjoy a wonderful meal, visit with friends and neighbors, bid on some super items and support your local Scouts. For more information call 453-4859.
The annual Rabies Clinic will be held on March 20 at the Monkton Volunteer Fire Department from 6 to 7 p.m. Rabies shots for your pet will cost $15. Please be sure to bring a copy of your latest rabies vaccination certificate on your pet also. To protect your pet and others, please have him/her on a leash or in a pet container.
Monkton Town Clerk Sharon Gomez will be on hand to register your dog for you. Your dog(s) needs to be registered on or before April 1 so it’s a great time to get it done. Prices for the license are as follows: spayed/neutered $10; un-neutered $13. After April 1, the prices go up to $12 and $15, respectively.
This clinic is for all the public, not just Monkton residents. For more information, call the town clerk at 453-3800.
