Trekkers to talk about walk across England

MIDDLEBURY — The Green Mountain Club Bread Loaf Section will host its 26th Annual James P. Taylor Outdoor Adventures Series on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. at Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society at 2 Duane Ct. in Middlebury.
Deb Van Schaack and Nancy Custer Carroll will present images and stories from their 15-day coast-to-coast walk across England in September 2017. Through three national parks from the Irish Sea to the North Sea, Van Schaack and Carroll encountered sun, wind, rain, magnificent countryside, thousands of sheep and some very fine folk with whom to walk and share a pint at the end of the day.
The path, first described in 1973, is 192 miles of mostly unsigned footpaths along varied terrain.
