Salisbury News for Feb. 8

SALISBURY — The Salisbury Free Public Library is hosting an Art and Chocolate sale and show this Saturday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be various chocolate goodies for sale and works by local artisans. Some of the art works will also be for sale. A highlight of the show is various knitted and crocheted items created by David Seeley, a long-time Salisbury resident who supported the library.
The students at the community school are participating in the Come Alive Outside Passport program. They can earn points by doing various outdoor activities listed on their passports. These include skiing, skating, building snowmen, visiting local parks and the Middlebury Winter Fest. Various prizes will be awarded based on the number of points collected by March 12.
The following people have filed petitions to be listed as candidates for offices at the March town meeting: moderator, Wayne  Smith; town clerk, Sue Scott; selectboard 3 years, Pedie O’Brien; selectboard 2 years, Pat Dunn; lister 3 years, Daniel Kuczynski; collector of delinquent taxes, Mindy Goodrich; first constable Jeffrey McDonough. No one filed for any of the following positions: lister, one year of three year term; auditor, one year of two year term; auditor, 2 years of 3 year term; auditor, 3 years; town agent, one year; grand juror, one year.
