Monkton News for Feb. 8

MONKTON — The Russell Memorial Library is hosting their annual Valentine and card-making workshop on two different days this year.  “Crafternoon” will be on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 3:00 p.m. Kids and families will be able to make simple card designs and pop-up cards and take them home after. Also, on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon, adults and children will be able to craft greetings for their loved ones. There will be more complex designs for adults and those who like a challenge. The librarians invite you to come and join in on these fun days for the whole family.
The librarians would also like to remind you that a program called “Saturday Stories” an on-going event held on the last Saturday of the month. Children will hear stories, sing songs, do simple crafts while having a lot of fun.
Watch for upcoming information about school vacation week, when a fun day of making bird feeders and more will be held.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming Rabies Clinic on March 20, at the Monkton Volunteer Fire Department. The clinic will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. with the Monkton Town Clerk available to register your dog if you have not yet done so. Rabies shots will be $15 for each pet this year. Be sure to bring a copy of your most recent Rabies Vaccination. Your dog needs to be licensed by April 1, so it’s a great way to get its license and shots all in one stop. Don’t forget to have your pet on a leash to protect it and other animals from any problems. You may call the Town Clerk’s office at 802-453-3800 if you have any questions.
