Pepper and Sassafras flavor Ripton Coffee House with music

This Saturday, Feb. 3, the Ripton Community Coffee House welcomes Pepper and Sassafras.
Who?
It’s Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers and Wendy Sassafras Ramsay, a duo of great music and thought.
“Wendy is as sassy as sassafras. Jeffrey is the antithesis of hot pepper: gentle and thoughtful,” reports Gail Brett, of Park Coffee House in upstate New York. “Together they stir up great music — clever, funny, and thought provoking, with an easy rapport with the audience.” Rodgers, also the founding editor of Acoustic Guitar magazine, delivers masterful band-in-a-box guitar work, while Ramsay, harmonizer extraordinaire, adds flute, clarinet, guitar, accordion, and her quirky originals to the mix.
Based in upstate New York, Pepper and Sassafras was selected as Best Duo finalist at FreshGrass 2016 and the New Voices winner at the Turtle Hill Folk Festival. Come see them live on Saturday.
The evening will begin with open mic at 7:30 p.m. with the feature performers following. Admission is $10, or $15 if you’re feeling generous; kids under 12 are $3. Doors open at 7 p.m.
For more info visit rcch.org. To sign up for open mic call (802) 388-9782.
