Local girls’ hockey tean defeated twice
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team dropped a pair of home games last week to fall to 3-7.
On Wednesday Beekmantown skated away with a 4-1 victory over the Tigers as four visitors scored a goal a piece. Helen Anderson notched the Tiger goal in her first action since returning to the lineup after an extended absence with a leg injury.
Beekmantown (N.Y.) 4, Middlebury 1: Four players scored as visiting Beekmantown clipped Middlebury. MUHS goalie Abby Hodsden made 18 saves, while Brianna Knight stopped nine shots for Beekmantown.
On Saturday visiting BFA-St. Albans remained undefeated by topping the Tigers, 3-0, in a competitive contest. Peyton Dukas scored twice for the 10-0-1 Comets, including a clinching empty-netter. Macie Boissonneault made 16 saves for BFA, and Hodsden stopped 16 shots for the 3-7 Tigers.
