MUHS boys bounce back to beat U-32 ice hockey, 3-0
BARRE — The Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team defeated host U-32 on Saturday night, 3-0, snapping a four-game losing streak and avenging a disappointing 4-3 home loss to the Raiders on the previous Tuesday.
The Tigers improved to 6-4-1 and strengthened their hold on sixth place in Division I. U-32 dropped to 3-5.
Kolby Farnsworth scored twice, once in the second period and once in the third, to lead the Tiger attack. Tyler Giorgio, from Abel Anderson, gave the Tigers the first-period lead, and also set up Farnsworth’s second goal. Devon Kearns and Kam Bartlett picked up the assists on Farnsworth’s first strike.
Tiger goalie Danny Wiles backstopped the win with 18 saves, and U-32 goalie Rory Haynes made 20 saves. The Tigers visit Stowe on Wednesday.
