Letter to the editor: Workers did great job in difficult weather
We lost power for eight hours in last week’s sleet/ice storm (January 12) due to very high winds that brought down a very large tree, which took out our power. This happened at 2 a.m. Friday morning and lasted until around 10 a.m. Green Mountain Power linemen came out here to Way Lane in Bridport on Lake Champlain, and worked on the site in the dark, high winds, sleet and freezing rain for eight hours until it was repaired.
We, here in the vicinity of the power outage are extremely grateful to these terrific men for using their endurance and knowledge to solve our outage in terrible conditions. Bravo to them and sincere appreciation for their profession.
With gratitude,
Barbara Cheney, Bill & Jean Fifield, Paul & Maggie Nocca and Terry & Cindy AmRhein
Bridport
