Vermont State Police Log: Sleeping New Haven driver cited for DUI-drugs
ADISON COUNTY — A concerned citizen flagged down a Vermont State Police cruiser on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at approximately 8:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Jiffy Mart on Route 7 in New Haven. The citizen told troopers that there was a woman slumped over in the driver’s seat of a white 2006 Chevy Impala in the parking lot.
Troopers saw the woman passed out in the driver’s seat, woke her up and determined that she did need medical attention.
While speaking with the woman, the troopers detected signs of impairment and the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. They screened the woman, identified as 59-year-old Annette Adams of New Haven, for driving under the influence and ultimately arrested her for driving under the influence of drugs.
They took Adams to the New Haven state police barracks for processing, cited her for DUI-drugs and released her with instructions to answer the change in Addison Superior Court, criminal division, on April 2.

No injuries were reported.
Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to contact the Vermont State Police, New Haven barracks at 388-4919. This case is open pending further investigation. Criminal charges are also pending in this case.
