Get ready for Vermont Farm Show 2018
ESSEX JUNCTION — The 2018 Vermont Farm Show will be staged at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction on Jan. 30-Feb. 1.
Organizers are excited to offer everyone interested in Vermont agriculture access to the most innovative companies doing business on behalf of agriculturists — through one-on-one conversations with nearly 150 exhibitors — as well as organizational meetings for groups representing producers like Christmas tree growers.
Contest displays will display award-winning examples of Vermont’s best maple syrup, Christmas trees, honey and fiber.
All three days will be filled with exciting things to do, so check the events listing as well as the vendor listings to plan your time here.
There will be an FFA Student Competition on that Wednesday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m., and the ever-popular Consumer Night/Capital CookOff will begin on Wednesday at 4 p.m. and close at 7 p.m.
This year, over two dozen exhibitors have offered to host “Job Fair on the Floor” booths and will be offering career information for their particular companies to anyone wishing to learn more about opportunities in agriculture. A full listing of participating vendors is in the show brochure and also on a handout at the front desk. The booths will also have signage identifying them as “JOB FAIR” stops. These exhibitors are located throughout both Miller Buildings.
The Vermont Farm Show has been going strong since 1931 (with a couple years’ hiatus due to World War II), and it has traveled from Memorial Auditorium in Burlington to the Civic Auditorium in Barre to its current home in Essex Junction.
Whether you will be a first-time visitor or have been coming for years, the Vermont Farm Show promises to be a window into the future of agriculture in the Green Mountain State.
