Legislative Breakfast Series unites locals with lawmakers
ADDISON COUNTY — Bridport Grange No. 303 and the Addison County Farm Bureau have confirmed the 2018 legislative breakfasts schedule, which will feature 13 opportunities for area residents to hear from local lawmakers about goings on under the Golden Dome in Montpelier this winter and spring.
As usual, the series will also include a “governor’s breakfast.” It will take place on Monday, March 26, beginning at 7 a.m., at the Middlebury American Legion headquarters at 49 Wilson Road. Gov. Phil Scott will be invited to be the featured speaker.
There will also be the customary “Agricultural Lunch” session — devoted specifically to farming issues — to be held at the Bridport Grange Hall on Monday, April 9, from noon to 1:45 p.m.
All of the breakfasts will be held on Mondays and (except the ag lunch) will begin with food at 7 a.m., followed by a moderated question-and-answer session with participating lawmakers that spans from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
Participants are under no obligation to buy food, though doing so helps the hosts defray the costs of opening their respective venues. The program is free, though donations are gratefully accepted.
The legislative breakfasts are also supported by Supported by the Addison County Chamber of Commerce and Addison County Regional Planning Commission.
