Tiger girls’ hockey hangs on for a 4-3 victory

BURLINGTON — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team on Wednesday hung on to defeat the host Burlington-Colchester cooperative team, 4-3, in the opener for both squads.
The Tigers took a 3-1 lead after two periods, enough to hold off the hosts’ third-period charge. Helen Anderson led the Tigers with a hat trick, and Abby Gleason also found the net. Tiger freshmen goalie Abby Hodsden debuted with 27 saves.
Three different BC players found the net, and goalie Courtney Rocheleau stopped 16 shots.
