Letter to the Editor: Democrats must create, emphasize positive message

I agree with the bulk of your editorial “Dems not the same as GOP!” in the Dec. 4 issue of the Addison Independent. The differences between the two parties — at least on the national level — are becoming more starkly clear on a daily basis.
However, I do not agree with the final conclusion, essentially advocating hammering on Trump during the upcoming election season. I would much rather see Democrats “hammering” on a positive vision for our country that is inclusive, forward-thinking, and sustainable for the long-term.
We have enough negativity coming at us from a variety of sources. It is non-stop. People can make up their own minds about how they feel about the current administration without having it consistently hammered into them.
A profoundly positive message from Democratic candidates, I think, would go a lot further than additional negativity and endless hammering.
