Many earn girls’ soccer recognition
ADDISON COUNTY — The Lake Division and Marble Valley League girls’ soccer coaches named 22 members of the Mount Abraham, Middlebury, Vergennes and Otter Valley union high school teams as all-stars, and seven received Division I, II or III All-State honors.
Earning D-I All-State nods were Tiger senior midfielders Andi Boe and Helen Anderson. From Mount Abe, senior midfielder Casey Ober and senior forwards Lydia Pitts and Emma Carter received D-II All-State recognition. In D-III, OV senior goalie Gabriela Poalino and VUHS sophomore midfielder Emily Rooney received All-State honors.
Boe, Anderson, Pitts, Ober, Carter and Rooney were also named First Team Lake All-Stars, and Poalino was chosen to the MVL B Division First Team.
Also named to the Lake Division First Team were three Tigers, senior striker Isabel Rosenberg, junior midfielder Ada Anderson and senior defender Alexa Lapiner.
Five Eagles were named to the Lake Second Team, senior defender Jenna McArdle, senior striker Abby Mansfield, senior midfielder Delana Tow, and sophomore midfielders Mae Peterson and Becca Laurent.
Three Commodores earned Lake Second Team recognition: sophomore defender Sophie Hatch, freshman midfielder Sydney Weber and junior midfielder Morgan Lynk.
Four Tigers earned Lake Second Team berths: junior midfielders Emily Laframboise and Ailey Bosworth, senior defender Sierra Barnicle, and senior goalie Abby Gleason.
