Regarding the height requirement for the Amtrak passenger train of the future — it is unfortunate that Amtrak is unwilling to compromise on the double decker car height requirement. I’m almost embarrassed to suggest as I am sure someone must have thought of this already, as rider numbers increase and the cars get too crowded, simply add another car. Trains can easily get longer. Must they become taller?
