Bristol churches to join in live nativity to help food shelf this Sunday
BRISTOL — Six local churches will participate in a live outdoor nativity on Sunday, Dec. 17, from 4-5 p.m. on the Bristol town green. The public are invited to take a “Journey to Bethlehem,” beginning at the War Veterans Memorial. Scenes depicting the Christmas story will be portrayed by members of six community churches: New Haven Congregational Church, First Baptist Church of Bristol, St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Federated Church of Bristol, Lincoln United Church and Bristol Christian Fellowship.
At the end of the journey the New Haven Bell Choir and other musicians will entertain with festive music while participants warm up with some hot chocolate and holiday treats at the First Baptist Church of Bristol.
Although the event is free, donations are appreciated for the local Have a Heart Food Shelf.
If the weather is predicted to be 10 degrees, including wind chill, the music and treats will still be offered, but there will be no guided tours. Watch the Bristol Front Porch Forum for announcements or call 802-453-6302.
