Panther field hockey wins NCAA title – again
THE MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE field hockey team on Sunday won its third NCAA Championship, and second in three years, with a 4-0 win over top-ranked Messiah (22-1). The second-ranked Panthers snapped the defending champions’ 44-game win streak, avenging a loss in the 2016 NCAA Regionals. Middlebury got to the final by defeating Franklin & Marshall in a dramatic semifinal on Friday. In the photo, Panther senior Annie Leonard celebrates the game-winning goal in overtime vs. Franklin & Marshall.
