Mount Abe field hockey wins 2-0 against U-32
BRISTOL — The Mount Abraham Union High School field hockey team blanked visiting U-32, 2-0, on Thursday, to finish the regular season at 4-6-4.
The Division II Eagles also concluded the season with a 4-0-1 record against D-II foes.
They will earn either the No. 5 or 6 seed in D-II depending on how Woodstock (5-5-3) fared in its final game this past weekend. The Vermont Principals’ Association was set to release playoff pairings on Monday morning, and the Eagles will play a road quarterfinal later this week.
On this past Thursday vs. U-32, Eagles Cecilia Vichi and Abby Perlee provided the offense with first-half goals, assisted by Evan Laurent and Olivia Young, and the Eagle defense and goalie Chessley Jackman (two saves) posted the team’s second shutout in three games and fifth of the season.
