Essex field hockey wins 12-2 against the Tigers
MIDDLEBURY — Visiting Essex, at 12-2 the second-place team in Division I, blanked the Middlebury Union High School field hockey team on Thursday, 4-0, as the D-II Tigers finished the regular season at 0-12-2.
The Tigers will unofficially enter the D-II postseason with a No. 9 seed and will probably visit No. 8 U-32 (2-12) early this week in a first-round game.
The Vermont Principals’ Association was set to release official playoff pairings on Monday morning.
On this past Thursday Hannah Palmer led Essex with two goals, and goalie Kayla Ferreira made two saves. Bridget Audet stopped 10 shots for the Tigers.
