Breastfeeding expert to offer free information to new mothers

MIDDLEBURY — The Vermont Department of Health’s Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) office in Middlebury has teamed up with the health care providers at Porter Women’s Health to help mothers who have questions or concerns about breastfeeding.
Angela Scavo, a breastfeeding peer counselor at WIC, will be at the Porter Women’s Health office on Mondays from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. offering support to any patient who wants to chat with someone about breastfeeding and or pumping. 
This service is free and available to moms before or after their baby is born.
Consultations are available to mothers who any questions, and might include:
•  Do you need support making a plan for breastfeeding and pumping when you return to work?
•  Are you experiencing any pain or discomfort while breastfeeding?
•  Are you interested in learning more about other support in your area?
•  Are you interested in learning more about WIC?
