The Art of Word’ on view through Nov. 30 at Bristol’s Artsight Gallery
On view now through Nov. 30 at ARTSight Gallery, Bristol, the Art of Word is an exhibit celebrating words in art, and art in words as interpreted by six Bristol artists: Lily Hinrichsen, Karla Van Vliet, Rachel Baird, Basha Miles, Annie Perkins and Reagh Greenleaf, Jr.
Viewers will see mixed media, collage, installation, paintings and a 1928 typewriter — feel free to tap out your own words!
“At ARTSight, while we have six artists’ studios, we’re also the home of the Bristol writing group South Street Writers Collective,” Hinrichsen said, explaining the origin of “The Art of Word” as this exhibit’s theme. “Our love of word and being in a creative space is what prompted us to do this.”
Three of the artists exhibiting, Van Vliet, Miles and Hinrichsen, are also members of the writers group that meets twice a month.
ARTSight is located at 6 South Street in Bristol. The public is welcome to an artist reception at the gallery on Friday, Oct. 6, from 6-8 p.m. For more information or to make an appointment to see the work call (802) 989-1333 or email, [email protected] or [email protected].
