Commodores, Otters defeated in girls’ soccer

ADDISON COUNTY — In high school girls’ soccer action between Sept. 21 and 26 Vergennes lost to a top team and Otter Valley dropped its homecoming contest.
Middlebury was set to host Milton and Vergennes to host Missisquoi on Wednesday after our deadline.
Mount Abraham defeated the Tigers, 6-2, in a game covered for the Sept. 25 edition of the Independent.
On Sept. 22 Division II’s first-place team, Rice, defeated the host Commodores, 3-1. Kaitlyn Brace, with an assist from Morgan Lynk, scored for VUHS, and goalie Anya Sonwaldt stopped nine shots.
On Saturday visiting Green Mountain Union remained unbeaten by topping the Otters, 6-0. OV will look to bounce back on Friday at Bellows Falls.
