Mount Abe ties, Tigers fall in field hockey

ADDISON COUNTY — In high school field hockey action earlier this week Mount Abraham earned a tie on the road, while Middlebury dropped a home contest. Otter Valley (3-1-1) was set to visit St. Johnsbury on Wednesday after this issue’s deadline.
EAGLES
On Tuesday, the Eagles earned a tie at Burlington when Casondra Dykstra scored with 10 minutes left in regulation to make it a 1-1 final.  The Seahorses, who received eight saves from Rotha Ibrahim, had taken the lead late in the first half. Goalie Chessley Jackman made three saves for the 3-1-1 Eagles.
TIGERS
Also on Tuesday, visiting Colchester improved to 5-0 by defeating the Tigers, 5-1. The Lakers’ Molly Echo scored twice in the first half, and goalie Ciera Morse stopped seven shots. Naoko Maruyama scored, and Bridget Audet made seven saves for the 0-4 Tigers.
