Middlebury Rotary rounds up year’s results, awards
MIDDLEBURY — The Rotary Club of Middlebury has announced the results of its recent fiscal year grant awards. The president for the year, Ben Fuller, oversaw a robust and productive fundraising effort that included the organization’s popular holiday Flag Project, the Buster Brush Golf Tournament, the Maple Run Breakfast and the Rotary’s 9th annual Spring Online Auction.
At the annual Gala Dinner, at the culmination of Rotary Week, the club was proud to distribute over $60,000 in grants to local organizations including HOPE (Helping Overcome Poverty’s Effects), Elderly Services Inc., Middlebury Regional EMS, Addison County Home Health and Hospice, Open Door Clinic and the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival. These and more than 20 other organizations were beneficiaries of the hard work and unselfish dedication of the 54 members of the club.
As the Middlebury club begins its new Rotary Year under the direction of President Tom Telling, members are looking forward to another great year supporting the good works of our local nonprofits as well as their many member supported service projects.
They are also excited to announce their first annual Fall Festival to be held on Sunday, Sept. 24, on the lawn behind Middlebury College’s Mahaney Arts Center. The event from 2-6 p.m. will feature music by the Horse Traders and contra dancing with Red Dog Riley. A beer and wine tent plus more than 20 food and craft vendors will be featured. Admission to this family-friendly event with activities for all ages will be $10 for adults and $5 for children with tickets on sale at the Middlebury Inn, Countryside Carpet and Paint and Holden Insurance.
The Rotary Club of Middlebury thanks all of its supporters last year who helped the club achieve its goals.
