OV runners host meet on new trail

BRANDON — The Otter Valley Union High School cross-country team hosted its only meet of the fall on Tuesday on the Otters’ new course, and the OV boys and girls each finished second to Rutland.
The OV boys placed two runners in the top 10, Wesley Smith in fourth in 21:03 and Parker Todd in eighth in 22:23. OV’s McKenna Todd took seventh in the girls’ race in 29:48.
Rutland edged the OV boys, 30-36, for the win, with Mount St. Joseph (59) in third. Mill River’s Brogan Giffin won the race in 20:30.
Rutland (15) also won the girls’ race, with OV (48) finishing second. Rutland’s RoSanna Hyde finished first in 26:12.
