Historical Society marks annual meeting with potluck and talk on Vermont’s farm legacy

BRIDPORT — The Bridport Historical Society will hold its 2017 annual meeting and potluck lunch on Sunday, Sept 17, at the Bridport Community/Masonic Hall. Featured will be a program by Gregory Sharrow on “A Sense of Place: Vermont’s Farm Legacy.” Sharrow, co-executive director of the Vermont Folklife Center, will explore the fabric of farm culture that has strongly influenced the identity of Vermonters, and probes its relationship to the world of Vermont today. His talk is sponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council.
The meeting begins at 1 p.m. with a potluck lunch, followed by Sharrow’s talk at 2 p.m. and then the historical society’s annual meeting. The event is free and open to the public. The Community/Masonic Hall is handicap accessible, and located at 52 Crown Point Rd in Bridport. For more information, contact Charlie Bain at 802-758-2218.
