Milton rolls past host OV football
BRANDON — Visiting Milton got 322 yards rushing and three touchdowns from running back Seth Herrity in rolling past the Otter Valley Union High School football team on Saturday, 64-33.
The Otters, who on Saturday were playing their first game after being bumped up to Division II in the offseason, will try to bounce back this Saturday at 1 p.m., when they host another D-II foe, Fair Haven.
Milton quarterback Jacob Laware added 158 yards on the ground, including a 64-yard TD run, and also threw for three touchdowns. Yellowjacket Tre Sherwood also returned an interception 94 yards for a score.
OV quarterback Tyler Rowe completed 13 of 25 passes for 117 yards, including TD strikes to Doug Coburn, Nate Hudson and Payson Williams.
Rowe also ran for 96 yards, while Hudson and Jake O’Connell also ran for touchdowns for the Otters, who reached the D-III finals a year ago and won the D-III championship two years ago but have a less experienced squad in 2017.
