Golfers tuning up for cross-club competitions
MIDDLEBURY — Local golfers posted some strong performances in regular weekly play at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury last week.
In the Tuesday Evening Men’s Scramble on Aug. 8, the three-some of Dale White, Josh Girard and Hogan Beazley claimed first place.
On Thursday, Aug. 10. the quartet of Chris Prickitt, Dave Foran, Jim Hadeka and Bob Smith claimed first in Bill Davidson Men’s Golf play. Ed Sommers got the highest net that evening. The second place foursome was comprised of John Davis, Joe Thilbourg, Jeff Stetson and Fred Belanger; third were Russ Reilly, John Myhre, Hogan Beazley and Bob Best.
The next day in the Friday Night Mixer the winners were Jim Reynolds, Dave Wemette, Nicole Laberge and Mary Ann Broughton. The runners-up were Father Skip Baltz, Catherine Kowalski, Liz Andrews and Bill Laberge.
On Saturday, the Middlebury course will host the first day of the two-day Ralph Myhre Vs. Neshobe Club Challenge; Neshobe will host day-two in Brandon on Sunday.
The Basin Harbor Club golfers will face off against Ralph Myhre members the following weekend with play in Middlebury on Aug. 26 and the next day in Ferrisburgh.
