Do you cook, paint, sew or otherwise craft? Field Days wants you

ADDISON COUNTY — Some organizers at Addison County Fair & Field Days are hoping that some locals with an artistic or culinary bent will submit their work for contests at the fair.
Are you a cook, crafter, gardener or artist? The Frances Monroe Home and Garden Center at the Addison County Fair and Field Days is the perfect place to display your work. The fair offers opportunities to exhibit handicrafts, art and photography, foods, flowers and garden products. There are premiums and prizes offered, as well as the chance to show your work and inspire others.
The Art and Photo Department and the rest of the Frances Monroe Home and Garden Center are seeking entrants.
“We are hoping to fill every shelf in the Home and Garden Center and award a prize in every category,” said Field Days board member Megan Sutton. “We welcome exhibitors from Addison County and beyond. Information is available at our website: www.addisoncountyfielddays.com.”
Handbooks that spell out the contest details and entry forms are available online at addisoncountyfielddays.com and by clicking here.
The Art and Photo Department has many prizes donated by local business and individuals, unfortunately, some of these prizes, as well as some of the long-time sponsors, have been inadvertently left out of the Field Days handbook. So here is a list of the department’s donors and prizes:
• Best Entry in Art-$50

         • Youth (2)-art supplies
• Best Black/White Rendering-gift certificate, Otter Creek Framing

Cash prizes and art supplies are being donated by Woody Jackson, Phyllis Romine, the family of Nancy Snow Kurrelmeyer, Abi Sessions, Judith Larson, Helen Freismuth and anonymous donors.
Organizers thanked all Businesses and Individual Sponsors for making Addison County Fair and Field Days a great success! And, if you would like to sponsor a prize they would be happy to expand the offerings.
“We hope you will enter your art and photos, as well as other arts and crafts in the Home and Garden Building,” Helen Freismuth said. “See you at the fair!”
