Twosomes prevail at Ralph Myrhe women’s tournament
MIDDLEBURY — The team of Beth Fappiano and Trish Wade was the Low Gross winner last week at Ralph Myhre 35th annual Women’s Invitational, while the duo of Julie Vest and Nicole LaBerge claimed the Low Net crown.
Finishing second behind Fappiano and Wade in the Low Gross race were Julie Dale and Laurie Carver, followed by Cindy Paquet and Sheila Darragh in third and Carol Weston and Jean Goodwin in fourth.
The runners-up behind Vest and LaBerge in the Low Net competition were Eva Mastalos and Giselle LaFleche, with Erika Politano and Marybeth Menduni in third and Heidi Lanpher and Pam McGuire in fourth.
LaFleche won the Closest to the Pin competition held on Hole No. 12, coming within seven feet and 3.5 inches.
In regular Thursday Night Bill Davidson Men’s Golf on July 13, the trio of Mike Adams, Chris Prickitt and Jeff Stetson emerged victorious, followed by the threesomes of Scott Bennett, Rodney Ebby and Tom Bennett, and Tom Maxwell, Steve Maier and Bill Brown, respectively. Prickitt shot the day’s best Low Net score.
In Friday Evening Golf Mixer play, the trio of Russ Leng, Wes Smith and Georgia Best prevailed, with the foursome of Deb Hadeka, Jim Hadeka, Liz Andrews and Don Keeler taking second.
