BRISTOL — Vermont State Police on Monday announced that they have cited a North Chittenden woman for cruelty to animals in connection with a June 26 investigation at a Terrier Drive property in Bristol.
Callie Gagnon, 63, is scheduled to answer to the cruelty to animals charge on Sept. 25 in Addison Superior Court, criminal division, according to VSP Trooper Joshua Gurwicz, who investigated the case.
Police said they had received a report of “neglected animals in poor condition” that were owned by Gagnon, who had moved from the Terrier Drive residence.
State police identified the animals as three Chinchillas, a Guinea Pig, two birds, one Pionus Parrott and one Moloccan Cockatoo.
Lt. Jeffrey Danoski, commander of the VSP’s New Haven barracks, said the animals had been “neglected for some time.”
Police said they took the animals to the Eastwood Animal Clinic in Rutland for treatment and care.
