BRANDON — If you plan to attend one auction this summer, know that a big one is coming up next week.
The 29th Annual Great Brandon Auction will be held Tuesday, July 18, at Central Park in downtown Brandon. The venue will be open for previews at 2 p.m.; bidding with auctioneer Barb Watters starts at 4 p.m.
Terms: cash or good check.
The event is sponsored by the Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce and will benefit the community projects of the chamber.
The auction offers antiques, collectibles, new merchandise, services, original art and more. Look for surprises and treasures from attics and barns throughout the area. Some of the merchandise is new from many local businesses.
There will also be lots of gift certificates to dozens of state and local businesses, including restaurants, museums, fuel oil vendors, massages, dinner for eight at a beautiful inn and more.
Food will be available from the Brandon Lions Club.
Bring your chair; this auction will be held rain or shine under the tent.
Vermont sales tax of 7 percent will apply to all purchases, excluding gift certificates.
Resellers will be required to sign an exemption form so they are asked to remember to bring their exemption number.
