UPDATE: Blue Spruce Motel ablaze

MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Fire Department has asked for mutual aid in fighting a major blaze this morning at the Blue Spruce Motel at 2428 Route 7 south. The Addison Independent has a reporter at the scene. Our office scanner indicates the structure is fully involved and that two nearby propane tanks have also caught on fire. Emergency responders currently believe no one has been killed or injured in the fire.Traffic on Route 7 south is being blocked off between Cady Road and Route 125 in East Middlebury. Vehicles are being diverted down Cady Road to Route 116. Other responding departments include those from Brandon, Salisbury, Bristol, New Haven, Cornwall and Vergennes.
