Local baseball players lauded

ADDISON COUNTY — Eight local high school baseball players earned postseason honors for their play this spring from the Marble Valley League or the Metro Conference, and three earned first-team honors.
Otter Valley seniors Derek Aines, a pitcher/utility player, and Colby McKay, a second baseman, earned First Team MVL honors, while Mount Abraham senior shortstop Chris Wood received First Team Metro recognition.
Three seniors earned Metro Honorable Mention: Middlebury outfielder Patrick Messenger, Eagle pitcher/third baseman George Bailey and Eagle pitcher/outfielder Adam Whitcomb. 
Two Otters earned MVL Honorable Mention: junior pitcher/outfielder Payson Williams and sophomore pitcher/first baseman Josh Beayon.
