BRIDPORT — An Orwell man died after a traffic accident Monday afternoon in which the motorcycle he was driving on Route 125 in Bridport crashed into a car.

On July 3 at approximately 2:27 p.m. troopers from the New Haven state police barracks were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash involving a car and motorcycle on Route 125 at the intersection with Basin Harbor Road in Bridport. An ambulance from Middlebury Regional EMS and Bridport firefighters also responded.
State police report that a 2006 Toyota Camry driven by a 16-year-old Ferrisburgh resident was northbound on Basin Harbor Road and stopped at the intersection with Route 125, according to statements from the driver. The Toyota proceeded northbound through the intersection when a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven eastbound on Route 125 by Boyea slammed into the Toyota.
Boyea was transported to UVM Medical Center and the 16-year-old driver was taken to Porter Hospital in Middlebury for evaluation and treatment of unspecified injuries.
The motorcycle was presumed to be a total loss, and the Toyota sustained extensive damage to the driver’s side on the front end.
