Addison North girls’ lacrosse team takes title
MIDDLEBURY — The Addison North Under-15 girls’ lacrosse team on June 11 won the Division A Northern Vermont Girls Youth Lacrosse Championship, defeating host Middlebury in the final.
Addison North team members are 7th- and 8th-graders at Vergennes and Mount Abraham union high schools.
Coached by Julianna Doherty and Steve Konczal, Addison North entered the season-ending tournament as the second seed behind No. 1 Middlebury.
That Sunday Addison North defeated Essex in the quarterfinal round and Stowe in a semifinal before upsetting Middlebury in a close championship. Both Addison North and Middlebury were undefeated in league play going into the final.
