Chimney Point to host ‘French Settlement Afternoon’ June 17

ADDISON — The Chimney Point, Vermont, area was the heart of a French settlement from 1731 to 1759. On Saturday, June 17, from 1-5 p.m. noted expert Joseph-André Senécal will be at the site for a “French Settlement Afternoon.”
Senécal will offer an exploration of French domestic settlement in the Chimney Point area. The afternoon will include discussions, looking at copies of period documents, studying models, and walking the grounds of the one-time frontier of New France. The program is included with the state  historic site’s regular admission of $5 for adults and free for children under 15.
