Letters to the Editor: Coach extends thanks for middle school Otter lax program

I want to voice many thanks to both the Town of Brandon and the administration at Otter Valley School for supporting the first season of middle school boys lacrosse.
A year ago, I approached both Bill Moore, the Town’s Recreation Director, and Steven Keith, the Activities Director at OV, about starting up a middle school lacrosse program as a feeder for the high school’s varsity program. I cannot express enough appreciation for how much both of these two individuals went out of their way to help me bring this program into fruition. I truly couldn’t have gotten it going without them. From organizing, creating field space, field maintenance, encouragement — all of it.
We are lucky to have both Bill and Steven working on behalf of the young people in this community.
I also would like to send a thank you to Jesse Milliman, the varsity coach of the boys’ lacrosse team at Otter Valley. He spent many afternoons and conversations helping me plan the season, even spending his time coming to some of our practices and games. Also, a huge thank you to the Middlebury Youth Lacrosse Club for donating all of the helmets!
Lastly, I have to thank the most important people of all in this, all seventeen of the great individuals that came out for lacrosse for the very first time! I’m proud of each of you, for your efforts, your commitment and the respect you showed me at every practice.
