Watercolor exhibit opens in Bristol June 9
BRISTOL — Art on Main will present an exhibit of watercolor paintings and prints by artist Ginny Joyner. The exhibit opens Friday, June 9, from 4-6 p.m. with an artist’s reception and wine tasting by Almost Home of Bristol and will be on display through mid-July.
Ginny Joyner is a well-known Vermont painter and illustrator from Colchester. She has a colorful, joyful style that celebrates the subjects she chooses whether it be a garden of lush peonies, an illustrated broadside of cheeses from around the world or a goddess in a Zen-like setting.
Joyner‘s work celebrates everything we love — gardens, food, flowers, animals, shoes, vintage cups — anything with a story or a beautiful design. Her illustrated vegetable botanicals are elegant and timeless, seeming almost iconic to life in Vermont. She paints flowers that are lush and loose and make you want to go outside and pick a bouquet. Her illustrated giclee. prints —a process that uses fade-resistant, archival inks and archival substrates to print on large format printers — include collections of French cheeses, sushi, goats, cows, even bacon.
Joyner offers watercolor classes to all levels at her Colchester studio and sells a full range of original paintings, archival giclee prints and cards. She also works freelance as an illustrator.
