Sodbusters host memorial tourney

BRISTOL — The Sodbusters Horseshoe Pitching Club hosted 48 pitchers in the Sodbusters Memorial Tournament at the club’s home courts in Bristol on Sunday.
Dan Gonyaw was winner in Class A with seven wins against one loss; he hit ringers 58.74 percent of the time.
Two members of the local club won their divisions. Mistylee Baird claimed the Class B crown, going 6-1 with ringers 36.77 percent of the time; and Brianna McCormick won Class C with a 7-1 record and ringers on 27.53 percent of her tosses.
Tournament participants came from around Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Other Sodbusters who placed in the tournament, with their win-loss record and ringer percentage, were:
Class A: 3. John Remy, 5-2, 46.38; 5. Michael Devino, 3-4, 41.94.
Class B: 5. Ron Williamson, 4-3, 28.93; 6. Dawn Coleman, 2-5, 34.16; 8. Michael Brown, 1-6, 29.72.
Class C: 2. Matt Coleman, 6-2, 29.10; 6. Donna Lewis, 4-4, 26.54.
Class D: 8. Maurice Cyr, 0.5-6.5, 17.58.
Class E: 3. Lou Cousino, 5-2, 19.81; 4. Alan Curler, 3-4, 15.36.
Class F: 5. Jackie Gorton, 3-3, 15.00; 6. Hunter Gorton, 2-4, 4.67.
