BRANDON — This summer, Brandon will hold its first-ever carnival. Brandon Rec and the Brandon Area Toy Project have teamed up to create a family friendly, free event for everyone to enjoy. The town will soon ring with laughter, glow by the lights of a carnival and rock with top shelf musical entertainment.
The Carnival, which will set up at Estabrook Field from June 8-11, will featuring live entertainment daily, as well as dozens of local vendors, games of chance and Carnival rides by Millers Amusements of N.H. Its aim is provide a fun time that won’t break people’s budgets.
Events begin on Thursday, June 8, at 5 p.m., with the Race to the Carnival! — a fun, easy 1k run/walk for everyone, benefitting Otter Valley Union High School’s Cross Country running and Ski team. Entries are due in as soon as possible and are available by contacting the Brandon Rec Department at [email protected]. The $25 race fee includes a free t-shirt and a ride bracelet for one of the bracelet times.
The race will be followed by Bingo at 7 p.m. under the Rutland Regional Medical Center Women’s Health Event.
The carnival will open at 5 p.m. of Friday, June 9, with vendors, rides and a DJ for a teen dance and light. The dance is open to all teens and kids in the area.
The Music Festival begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday June 10. The Hogan Engineers will begin the day with a STEM event, followed by a Battle of the Bands, the Tintype Gypsies, Ben Fuller and Jamie Lee Thurston.
Sunday, June 11will commence with aworship service with Pastor Scott Carlson of the Living Waters Assembly of God, starting at 10:30, followed by a full afternoon of Christian Rock, country and folk music.
