Artists in Vermont open studio doors this Saturday and Sunday

Bright yellow signs compete with a multitude of greens along Vermont’s roads enticing visitors to the studios of craftspeople and other artists across Vermont during the 2017 Spring Open Studio Weekend, this Saturday and Sunday.
Open Studio Weekend is a statewide celebration of the visual arts and creative process, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to meet a wide variety of local artists and craftspeople in their studios, and purchase high quality, handmade artwork.
The self-guided Open Studio tour features the work of glassblowers, jewelers, printmakers, potters, furniture makers, weavers, ironworkers, painters, sculptors, quilt makers and wood carvers. Many participating galleries will host gallery talks and feature special exhibits in conjunction with this event.
Art of Main in Bristol acts as an information center for Open Studio weekend. They will have Open Studio maps and can help answer questions. The gallery will also have demonstrations of bookmaking techniques by Jane Ploughman on Saturday from 12-3 p.m.; and of traditional letter-press printing by John Vincent, Revolutionary Press on Sunday from 12-3 p.m.
Reach Art on Main at (802) 453-4032 or visit www.artonmain.net. The gallery will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28.
