Spring into the Arts to kick off May 30
MIDDLEBURY — Spring Into the Arts, a biannual event, showcases student artwork and performances from public, private, and homeschool settings in the communities of Addison Central School District. Students’ visual artwork will be displayed at the event, as well as in businesses throughout Middlebury. This year the festival will take place on May 30 and June 1 from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Mahaney Center for the Arts, Middlebury College, 72 Porter Field Rd.
As part of the festival, elementary, middle, and high school students will perform and participate in workshops with professional guest artists who ignite our students’ love and passion for the arts, and will also present their own musical and theatrical performances for their peers.
The workshops and performances are free and open to the public. There will also be a free evening performance featuring a chorus of ACSU elementary students and music from guest artist Jo Sallins on Wednesday, May 31, at 7 p.m., at Middlebury Union High School.
From May 31-June 4, student artwork will be on display at the Mahaney Center for the Arts, open Wednesday-Friday, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
Artwork will also be on display May 26-June 4 at Middlebury businesses, including: Middlebury Chocolates, Noonie’s Deli, Bourdon Insurance, Ilsley Public Library, National Bank of Middlebury, The Vermont Book Shop, Vermont Sun Fitness Center, Sabai Sabai Thai Cuisine, Otter Creek Used Books, Clay’s, Middlebury Town Offices, Forth ’N Goal, Vermont’s Own Products, Main Street Stationary and IPJ Real Estate.
