CVUUS to host rhubarb festival June 3

MIDDLEBURY — The eighth annual Rhubarb Festival is comingSaturday, June 3, to the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society (CVUUS) on Duane Court in Middlebury, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be an abundance of homemade rhubarb pies — but come early for strawberry-rhubarb. Sweets and savories will also be for sale. Acafé,opening at10:30, will offer a sandwich or salad lunch for $5, including a dessert of rhubarb crisp with (optional) whipped cream, and choice of coffee, tea, lemonade.
Find gently used children’s books, bling and scarves. A variety of houseplants, seedlings, and home grown plants, including basil, tomato, nasturtium, zinnia and veggies will be available. Face painting for kids will happen in the church foyer.
Live music — fiddlers, piano and singers — will be performed throughout the day. Half the proceeds will go to a local charity.
