Cuba presentation May 16 at Ilsley
MIDDLEBURY — In “Cuba Today,” Tami Munford, Middlebury educator and author, will share photos and experiences of modern Cuban culture from her multiple trips to Cuba. The presentation will take place at the Ilsley Public Library community meeting room from 7-8 p.m., on May 16.
Munford has had years of experience with Latin-American culture, beginning when she learned Spanish in Caracas, Venezuela, where she lived from 1984 to 1989.
She traveled to Cuba for the first time in 2014 with Burlington College to learn about the Cuban educational system. In 2015 she became the director of Cuba Programs at Burlington College. Most recently, Munford spent January through May 2016 living in Vedado, Cuba.
In addition to her presentations, Munford has alsowritten and illustrated a children’s book that offers a portrait of life in contemporary Cuba.
