MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Christopher L. Lambert, who is homeless, for the alleged assault of another homeless person in the Court Street area on April 24.
Authorities took Lambert into protective custody and then took him to Rutland to receive additional care.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Helped Middlebury Regional EMS with a North Pleasant Street woman who had been having a medical emergency on April 24.
•  Cited Daniel Williams, 30, of Burlington for unlawful mischief, following an incident in the Woodland Park area on April 24.
•  Served a temporary restraining order on a local man on April 24.
•  Continued their investigation on April 25 into a possible theft from a Washington Street business.
•  Responded to a report of a “suspicious” man loitering at a Court Street convenience store on April 26.
•  Investigated a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident on Bakery Lane on April 26.
•  Assisted a South Street resident who on April 26 reported receiving a threatening message.
•  Received a report about a person allegedly camping behind the Otter Creek Child Care Center on Weybridge Street on April 26. Police said the individual has been given a week to leave the area.
•  Responded to a report of a vehicle blocking Shannon Street at around 5 a.m. on April 27. Police learned that vehicle had rolled out of a driveway. The owner retrieved the vehicle.
•  Cited Isabelle Miller, 23, of New Haven for driving under the influence, following a traffic stop on Painter Road on April 27. Police said they measured Miller’s blood-alcohol level at 0.102 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08.
•  Served a no-trespass notice on April 28 on a man who was not wanted at Noonie Deli in the Marble Works.
•  Conducted a welfare check on April 28 on a South Pleasant Street man who had informed police he had taken sleeping pills. Police said the man was OK.
•  Investigated a report of gunshots in the Wildflower Lane neighborhood on April 29. Police said fireworks created the noise.
•  Served a no-trespass order on April 29 on a person not wanted at a School House Hill Road residence.
•  Assisted Vermont State Police with an accident on Route 125 in Ripton on April 29. That one-vehicle accident, according to state police, involved a Ripton man who had driven into some rocks that had spilled onto Route 125 as a result of a rockslide that affected a patch of the road near the Middlebury/Ripton border. Police said the driver, 29-year-old Charles Desjadon, sustained a head injury in the crash.
•  Responded, with Middlebury firefighters, to a report of an illegal burn at an Airport Road residence on April 30. Police said the resident was burning household trash and will be ticketed for the offense.
•  Responded to a family dispute at a South Pleasant Street residence on April 30.
•  Received a report that a vehicle had been vandalized while parked on Washington Street on April 30.
•  Warned a man who had allegedly been seen urinating in the Marble Works parking lot on April 30.
