Tiger and Otter boys’ lax teams both fall in weekend competitions
ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school lacrosse action late last week, both the Middlebury and Otter Valley boys’ dropped home games.
Two other games were postponed. The Vergennes/Mount/Abe girls were set to host Randolph/Chelsea on Friday; no makeup date has been announced. The Mount Abe/VUHS boys’ game originally scheduled for Saturday was moved to May 15.
TIGER BOYS
On Friday, visiting Champlain Valley edged the Tiger boys, 8-7, despite 15 saves from MUHS goalie Doug DeLorenzo. The game was tied at the half at 4-4 and was close throughout; the Redhawks’ three man-up goals were critical.
Jake Schaefer led CVU (5-1) with two goals and an assist, and goalie Johnny Gay made five saves.
Trey Kaufmann paced MUHS (2-2) with three goals and an assist. Andrew Gleason scored twice, and Jack Donahue and Jake Peluso chipped in a goal and an assist apiece.
OTTER BOYS
On Saturday, visiting Green Mountain Valley defeated the OV boys, 15-6, dropping the Otters to 2-3. Hayden Gallo and Ethan Sulik-Doty scored two goals apiece for OV, and David Soulia andJustin Tremblay each added one. Otter goalie Alec Stevens stopped 13 shots.
