ACTR receives donation from St. Stephen’s Peasant Market
MIDDLEBURY — The Peasant Market of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church recently donated $2,000 to Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) to help replace aging buses. ACTR plans to put two new 28-passenger buses in service to ensure the travelling public’s safety and meet ridership demands.
“This support means a lot to ACTR,” said Jim Moulton, executive director. “It represents the hard work of all those involved with the Peasant Market and the value they place on ACTR as a means of improving the community through access to nutrition, education, employment opportunity, medical care and environmental stability.”
The Peasant Market has been a popular local event for several decades. Typically it offers a high-quality flea market, baked goods, handicrafts and games to play. Area non-profits and service organizations benefit from the proceeds. This year’s event takes place on the Middlebury Green from 9 to 2 on Saturday, July 8.
