Girls’ tennis falls to Solons
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ tennis team dropped a competitive match to visiting Montpelier on Wednesday, 5-2.
Singles players Sierra Barnicle and Monroe Cromis scored the points for the Tigers, and the other matches were strongly contested.
The individual results were:
• No. 1 singles: Claire Wulfman lost, 1-6, 2-6.
• No. 2 singles: Charlotte Keathley lost, 4-6, 7-5, 13-11 tiebreak.
• No. 3 singles: Tasha Hescock lost, 5-7, 2-6.
• No. 4 singles: Barnicle won, 6-2, 4-6, 10-4 tiebreak.
• No. 5 singles: Cromis won, 6-4, 6-4.
• No. 1 doubles: Calista Carl and Elizabeth Chamberlain lost, 3-6, 2-6.
• No. 2 doubles: Hattie Lindert and Nora Draper lost, 6-6 (5-7), 2-6.
