Gil Viau wins trip to Nashville

ADDISON COUNTY — A New Haven man is the winner of the grand prize at the Annual Addison County Hospice Fundraiser held March 25.
Organizers drew the raffle ticket bought by Gil Viau, who won a dream vacation to Nashville and/or Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. Viau will be taking a break from running Gil’s Garage in New Haven.
Trip underwriter Milne Travel will help Viau plan his 6-night/7-day trip to the heart of NASCAR country.
Peter Schenck won second place in the raffle, which brought him a cool $500.
Our two local hospice agencies — Hospice Volunteer Services and Addison County Home Health and Hospice — held this major fundraiser at the Middlebury Inn. The ticket drawing party featured silent and live auctions.
HVS & ACHHH welcomed to the event 140 guests, who were treated to numerous culinary delights donated by area restaurants, businesses and farms, and beverages donated by local breweries and Farrell Distributing. The Addison Independent provided design services and advertising, and Vermont Gas was also a major sponsor.
The true benefactors of the Dream Vacation Raffle are Addison County hospice patients and families. The funds raised from the Dream Vacation Raffle will be used to sustain excellent end-of-life care for the residents of Addison County.
